[16 june 2008]erm.. well.. before u guys smash me with rotten eggs and bugs-infested vegetables, let me just apologise for this v v v v v v late update.. *runs away and siam from all unwanted items*anyway, looks like its very hard for me to blog abt the sarawak trip but anyway, i will still do it after i get the pics.. let me just blog on that loveliest OBS camp!much thanks to my dearest tenzing-ers:kranji:

day 1:assembled in school at 7.30am... set off to punggol jetty and gather with other ppl like the uni grp ppl and zhonghua sec ppl ad not forgetting our singers of the week! noisy-ville... nice name eh? i shall not disclose their real names but kranjians shud noe who they are... haha..met our instructors and tenzing's instructor is! *drum rolls*instructor abidin!!! I/C of camp 2! whoots! guess wad? he used to be a firefighter before he went for trainings and became a trainer under outward bound singapore! im so proud of u man! anyway, after settling down and clearing up our store and eating our v v v v not-used-to-it lunch, we went to our campsite for the night and played sth like trust fall.. did not let me have much trust in my team mates but at least i noe that they wont sabo me for the rest of the camp.then we went for the belaying school... not very high but still poses a challenge to some of us bcos we have nvr tried it before. settled down and cooked dinner. i was quite proud of Tenzing bcos we already managed to unite on the first day and we ate our dinner like a family! im proud of u tenzing-ers! cheers!day 2: day 2 came and went. we had some capsize drills and tried the T-X rescue thingy.. quite cool actually. i think Abidin was quite frustrated with me cos i keep dun dare to capsize over.. partially bcos the paddle oso keep dropping lar. but quite fun in the end xD then we kayaked to camp 1 whr we had our high elements.took very long to get up to the second log but still was not successful cos angeline and i were both exhausted. sry guys...sry for wasting time up there and thanks for ur encouragement. we still could not do it in the end. :(could not sleep in the tents that night bcos got big big storm and our tent practically flew away from our original place... sad.. slept in the MPH. it was like damn cold at night cos 4 ppl shared one poncho as blanket but somehow, i did not get my share of it so i could only cover like 1/4 of my body... in the end, i could not sleep bcos too cold and my jacket was under vanessa's,angeline's and yuting's head as their pillow... nth to cover myself so was kept awake till abt 5+. i shivered until i got muscle ache the nxt day lor. so sian...day 3:LAND EXPEDITION. we played a blind folded game and i think it was joo hou who led us in rounds before we got to the right place. then we played the dark dark tunnel... it was friggin' dark and u really cannot see ur fingers even if u put it right in front of ur face. i finally know how it is like to be blind. then we set off..i was one of the navigators at first but then after that the other guy from Hillary-Zhonghua took over me and i went to the back and became the sweeper. i was supposed to sweep all the ppl in front of me so i was kind of the last man... but i ended up chatting with keith, faridah, jiaqi and daniel chia. not forgetting to encourage someone that ended up slowing down both tenzing and hillary. i forgive *** for that bcos of her physical fitness...finally made it to ubin village whr the ground was like infested with red ants and other creepy crawlies. dinner was quite well-cooked all thanks to yujia sister! except that vanessa and i were busy venting our anger by opening cans and stepping them like ants... it did help me fasten my rate of opening cans with jack knives that not many ppl can do.. right jiaqi? (: for the event that happened at night during sentry duty, visit yuting's/vanessa's blog. i think they can provide a better description... xD day 4:SEA EXPEDITION!!!!!!woke up at abt 4+ and prepared. set off at sbt 7.30am and started to kayak. i was kayaking with winston and he is really a v v v v nice guy. thanks for all that paddling when i was tired. it was a once in a lifetime experience. seriously.. how many ppl can enjoy their lunch in a kayak in the middle of the sea with ppl throwing bread and biscuits around? it was really a great fun!when we finally reached camp 2, everyone was happy and tired at the same time. it was such a relief... we were awarded with JETTY JUMP!!! muahaha!! actually i was quaking in my shoes when it was my turn to jump. then i thought that "this is my only chance to commit suicide and not die!" then i took that step out and jumped! whew! lucky im still here typing and in one piece... but the point is the sea is so freaking dirty!!! and wei hong actually lost one of his aqua shoes in the water. so now u can imagine how deep is the water and how high that plank was? haha! we then washed the kayak and washed ourselves. after washing, vanessa told me something abt jiaqi that totally changed my impression of him! jiaqi! u r such a gentleman! seriously! im really shocked by wad u did... anyway, we washed up and prepared for dinner. it was a cooking competition and yujia was our da chu shi! u're the chef yujia! and jiaqi, have u been practising to open cans with jack knives? well, he challenged me to see who could open a can faster with jack knives... obviously i was faster bcos i was having trainings the night and that was his first few attempts... dun get disheartened, jiaqi. its ok.. not many ppl can open cans with freaking jack knives.. just treat it as sth for u to vent ur anger.. it helps..angeline, aren't u proud to have a 'sister' like her? lol.. inside-joke... anyway, shenghong did a great presentation and we all had the chance to taste the apple crumble made by the instructors.. the only decent food we've had in days! haha... (: oh. and vanessa and i had that stupid floating sensation for abt a few hours until we went to 'bed'... my floating feeling continued until saturday... bad bad bad feeling.. imagine floating on dry land.... argh! enjoyed myself thoroughly in OBS and thanks to Din who let me understand my direction in life and u gave me the motivation to keep my hands up and have the drive in me to climb other mountains! i will nvr forget u and the story u told us. speaking of that, i really wanna get that book that u showed us that day. wonderful invention! xDlast day:shopping and all.. not forgetting a little debrief. that may have been the last morning circle but to me, that will be the start of my new life. a new life that is so full of activities and ppl that i know care abt me.... haix... thanks to angeline, vanessa and lydia for being angry with me, screaming with me over trivial things, sleeping with me in the same tent and being hot and stuffy in that small but cosy tent... thanks to joo hou, qamaruz, winston, hariz and jiaqi for helping out so much without complaining..thanks to yujia for being such a great cook... not having decent food is not that bad but not having some who knows how to cook in the team makes the whole trip unbearable. i dun mind having maggi mee for all the three meals bcos at least u r there!! haha...thanks to sheng hong for entertaining all of us even when u r tired and making us laugh when we are so upset over other matters...thanks to all tenzing-ers!!!! im proud of u guys seriously! take lots of care and dun get high blood pressure.. i pity u guys actually.. haix.... jiayou and hope to meet up soon!! <3shall post the pics once i get them! jiayou all tenzing-ers! u rule the world!! full-stop for OBS fir the time being. still have to chiong hw!Labels: yours truly ♪ yihan ♪
